Gracias
We were in the Sierra de la Macarena with the Omega Task Force in an initiative of social projection of the army towards the Municipality of La Macarena. It was an advanced activity where a group of our doctors went in order to learn about the health realities of the community.

Our objective was fulfilled, we met very important community leaders, we were able to see first-hand the activities that as a Foundation, Military forces and University we can carry out. It is not about replacing the Colombian state, but projecting our strengths within the purposes of the peace process. We are sure that in addition to health, we can help in reforestation activities, water management, tourism, communications, support for libraries, solidarity economy, education, psychological support for displaced persons, agriculture, among others. Thanks to the commanders of the Task Force, to the FAC that transferred us, to the mayor's office of La Macarena and to the leaders who taught us about the potential of their region. They are very far away, a woman must travel by plane to Villavicencio for a mammogram, which reinforces our early diagnosis program, the hospital has deficiencies, yes, it is true there are difficulties, but they have a community that wants to progress. We were sorry when we went to visit Caño Cristales. We saw that desire to organize, to take care of their resources and above all the vision they have that it is progress and self-management that will make them grow, we will only be a contribution with all our hearts...
In addition to training about 90 women we performed 76 screening exams for early diagnosis of breast cancer. We also train each woman about why she duels her breasts, how to perform Breast's self -examination. Our team with students from the Military University
Zipaquira is a great population to 2 hours from Bogotà. We accept an invitation from a colleague university and attend with our breast team. We carry out training activities and sine cancer. We could also collaborate in Pediatria activities. We carry out our activity as we like, regardless of the difficulties of space, regardless of how many people they consulted us, with passion for teaching each woman because her breasts hurt, how to find the breast early, how to perform self -examination and because her breasts hurt her to a woman.
It was an integration activity with the Faculty of Nursing of the Juan N Corpar University, the personnel of the Mayor of Zipaquirà, Toto staff, (company that takes gifts to children and adults related to briefcases and educational articles) and medical staff) and the medical staff aesthetics that I give us relaxation massages. It was a great activity and we were motivated for a series of activities with the Mayor of Zipaquira for the next months.
We were with volunteers from the Breast Group of the University of Rosario collaborating on the day of the Violet Women in the municipality of Cajica. 2 hours from Bogota, we help the Mayor performing training activities, breast screening to women affected by violence to women. It was very exciting to share the activities of the Mayor for these women, a fair recognition. Thank you very much to the mayor, with Quiien we have already carried out other activities, as well as our thanks to the administrative staff of the Mayor and the Foundation of CoopServir for allowing us to put our "grain of sand" in this activity
During the month of May a part of our breast team, now with the participation of volunteer surgery residents of the Military Hospital, moved to the Colombian Air Force to the population of San Andres and Providencia, recently affected by a hurricane. It was a great activity but it was sad to observe how the distance can affect the possibilities of acting in our activity. Although we carry out screening and training activities, we are left with the frustration of not being able to complement our clinical actions with a close radiological examination. We had patients pending to solve their symptomatology. But it was the first Vvez. We begin to leave a seed and we will continue looking for solutions...
In union with the Aerea force we perform simultaneously with 2 teams from our breast group. We attended low -income women from both municipalities. We receive therapeutic support from the Coopapir Foundation. We also support the activities of Gynecology and Peditria, the first with our Gynecology, voluntary of the group and linked to the Military Hospital. We also work with the volunteers of the Military University and the University of Rosario who have joined the group.
We carry out with a United Nations NGO a mission to know the condition of displaced women charged the Orinoco river into limits with Venezuela and Brazil. It was very sad to find the women who have settled in these regions displaced by violence, most have become women head of the family because they lost their classmates due to the violence of both subversive groups and the drug traffickers of Lña Region. It was an accompaniment to evaluate possible future development projects with some interested NGOs
